Bemmy is short for Bedminster, an old Somerset town that was brought into Bristol in the 19th century but still believes it is is Somerset. 

The “D” in Bedminster is subtly silent hence the abbreviation of Bemmy. It is not Bemmie and it is certainly not Bedmo. Incomers have a lot to answer for and a lot to learn. 

This website is about the good and only the good in our area. Some of you will scoff at that statement but when you look beyond the tattiness and into its heart Bemmy is a gorgeous place to live.

New businesses are opening regularly and more and more of them are about regeneration not gentrification.
