Tony moved to Bristol about 30 years ago as a shopfitter and then he decided to diversify.
He opened Millers, an organic and vegan hairdressers, on East Street in 2007 and it has a great reputation. Click on the link about to book your hair makeover!
The East Street Deli Co. saw the light of day around three years ago. Owning a deli and a hairdressing salon seems a bit strange but I reckon that Tony opened the deli so he had unlimited access to cheese.
The Deli has recently had a revamp and now has booths as well as tables. It has an amazing range of quiches, olives, cheese (of course) and cakes. There’s also a wide range of drinks to choose from.
Music plays constantly though not intrusively and you cannot predict what type of music will be playing when you are in there. This is one of the things I love about it.
Tony is one of the people who is actively regenerating East Street and not gentrifying it. The range of customers is enormous and it includes dogs and children. My own dog is a regular there.
It’s not a quiet place – people go there to socialise and socialise they do.
